About the Book

Interest in fungi present in indoor environments has grown in the last decade.  Although fungi are ubiquitous and belong to the common contamination flora, their recognition is hampered by incomplete and often confusing literature.  Originally intended as a course guide, this volume contains mainly keys and morphological descriptions of the most common species.  Since this mycoflora (or mycobiota) is very similar to that of food, the book combines both food- and airborne fungi.

The new seventh edition includes updates of the introductory text for both Aspergillus and Penicillium, and revised descriptions of Alternaria and Stachybotrys.  Additionally, 48 color images of colonies of Aspergillus, Erotium, and Penicillium are featured.  The appendix includes a glossary and a listing of media currently recommended for isolation and identification of food- and airborne fungi.
